Ok so the first days of detoxing sucked more than words could say. I felt awful, I wanted to kill someone and I couldn't take an advil for the screaming headaches!! Now I am on day 9 (of 30) and I feel like the yuckiness has faded. I have lost 6 pounds, and my son has lost over 10! Woohoo, we are off to a great start! The nutritionist told me that after 72 hours the cravings for sugar and caffeine go away...she is, as much as I love her, a liar!
I could down some serious cake right now, and a gallon of coffee! I am not a big coffee drinker, sometimes just a half a cup a day, sometimes none, but I thoroughly enjoy it! Sugar on the other hand.....if someone asked me what I wanted for my last meal it would be something ooey gooey and super chocolatey, probably topped with ice cream and whipped cream for good measure. I can't imagine ever NOT wanting sugar. So I continue on my detoxing journey, eating uncured natural hot dogs with dairy free, wheat free, yeast free bread (mmmm I know your mouth is watering now!) a gallon of hummus a week and all the bland food I could ever want! Next week I am allowed to add fruits in moderation. Never thought I would be so excited over fruit and counting down the days! All in all the results are what I was hoping for and keeping my fingers crossed that it continues...gotta run for now, I hear a rice cake calling my name!
