My Crazy Life!

Let me start by introducing myself...My name is Laurie, I have been married for the past 19 years to the funniest man I have ever met. We have 4 children ages 23, 18, 16 and 9....and yes you have done the math correctly, we were not married when our first two children came along...truth be told, I didn't even know my husband when the first one was born...she is technically not mine by birth, but in my heart she is my first born. Now the next one, my little too-smart-for-her-own-good-obsessive-compulsive ray of sunshine is another story! She is our love child conceived when we were young and in college...we learned (and were mortified) just how smart she was when we were in the OB's office waiting for the ultrasound for our 4th and final child,  and she (at 9 years old) also did the math and blurted out, "so how many months pregnant with me were you when you got married?" Things like that come out of my children all the time...words that amaze me, and a quick witted-ness that leaves me stammering. They get that from their father, he is quick on the draw.  They are my inspiration for everyday, and for this blog. Their reactions and comments to situations like last year when our house flooded twice (not making that shit up, shuddering when I conjure up flashbacks of lying on the floor in the fetal position waiting for the dry-out and insurance companies to assess the damage) and we joke about it now, to just the other day when we locked ourselves out of the house and had to wait an hour in a million degree heat for keys. We may not be laughing when it is happening, but in all honesty, our hardest times are our funniest memories. So here is the raw and honest truth about life with four children and the stuff no one ever warned me about!
